The Tropics are water resistant?

We want to protect your foot from bacterias, rocks, mud... BUT NEVER FROM WATER.

Our materials let the water comes in and out faster than any other and are quick drying. We can’t say exactly how long it takes to be completely dry because it depends on the weather and the humidity of each place.

However, please note that in some of the locations where we have done the tests, the shoe has taken <15 minutes to dry.

Removable insole for medical/orthopedic issues

If you need special insoles, you're in luck!

Our insole is removable, so you could always use your own ones

Also, our outsole has been designed thinking on natural motion and flexibility, to keep you comfortable.

Are you offering friendly shipping?

In regards to friendly shipping. Unfortunately, our shoes are shipped out from China to your doorstep (being the fastest and most safe way). We are so sorry if that causes any inconvenience.

Also please note that it's because we ship from China that we can offer reduced international shipping. And as startup, we currently do not have freight, distribution and warehousing to provide another service for you.

In terms of value declared, we will try our absolute best to get you the best rate possible.

Can Select Just One Shoe

If you've pledge more than one shoe and now you can't select the followings, most probably you just need scroll down your mobile screen

When you access to survey through your backer purchase email, the platform will recognize your pledge

Then, in one slide you will choose size and color for the first shoe, and then on the next slide, the same for the second and last shoe. And go on, in case you ordered more than two!

Change/Update Survey

We explain you how!

  • Recover the survey with the same link and click on 'View Confirmation'
  • On Pledges Items options, click 'Edit Pledge Questions'. You will start from the beginning of the survey and edit whatever you need
  • Follow the steps or choose directly step/question and click 'Update', if you are not on mobile. Finally, click on 'Place My Order'

Shoelaces colors, including shoelaces pack are unique. That means that you can’t choose or select the color you want. But we have it in mind for our next campaign!

Help To Choose the Right Size

If you are sure about the EU size you are, we will recommend you go for it!

In case you are between two sizes: if you are very near to the limit of one size, the decision it's on you. Depending if you prefer to go more relaxed or tight

Please, double check these tips! - Marta's Tip: my left foot measures 26.4 cm. I like to feel my feet tight and still comfortable. So I use EU 41! - Alberto's Tip: I have a 26.9 on my right foot but never like to feel tight, so I always buy half size bigger. For me, EU 43 fits great! - Lucas's Tip: I have a wider feet and usually buy a bigger size. With Tropic I do the same and I decided to size up!

I can’t find my size

Our sizes go from the EU 37 to EU 47

In the middle of the campaign we did a survey asking if you wanted us to open more sizes and... ta daah!, we introduced size EU 47!

We haven't removed any! In case you were expecting big or smaller ones... we recommend that you think of someone else to give them to them! :)

Exchanges will be available only in case of wrong sizing during the next 15 days after you receive your Tropics and will be valid as long as you want one of our available sizes (EU 37 - EU 47)

As we have said from the beginning, we are a small startup and we will not accept refunds

In case of wrong sizing we will accept exchanges, shipping cost assumed by the customer Regarding the no refund policy, we want to share the main reasons:

  • During the campaign we have incurred expenses and payments to third parties, directly related to the success of the campaign and your contribution
  • The refund period ended 14 days after the end of the campaign. Moment in which, Kickstarter platform and payment getaway got their own commission
  • After receiving Kickstarter payment, we order and bought all the materials to our suppliers

As you can imagine and know, this is not a regular ecommerce campaign. It’s a crowdfunding campaign, and we need your help and commitment to pursue our dreams

As we are a Startup we work with limited budget and can't offer a warranty period at the moment.

Therefore, it's not the first time that we work with that factory and we have all the processes controlled. Each pair goes through Quality Control so we assure that backers will get an amazing quality shoe!

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.

Why can’t I log into my account?

Request a login link to your survey by entering your email here:

BackerKit will send you an automated email with an invite link to whatever email you pledged with.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

Can I upgrade or get multiple copies of my pledge?

This depends on the project creator’s decision. If you are unable to see the ‘Want to switch your pledge level?’ after clicking on your pledge amount under “Pledge Level” in your survey, then the project creator would prefer people not to switch pledge levels.
